We had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Nnenna Ogwo – Concert Pianist, Educator, and founder/Artistic Director of Juneteenth LP 🎹🎶. In this fascinating conversation, we delved into Nnenna’s inspiring project, Juneteenth LP, an extraordinary musical initiative based in the heart of NYC, spotlighting the rich music of the African Diaspora and showcasing exceptionally talented Black classical musicians with a strong emphasis on community-building and outreach.   • 🎹 Dr. Nnenna Ogwo — A renowned pianist, educator, and Juneteenth LP‘s founder/artistic director, she has performed globally, from Europe to the US. Her mission is to broaden classical music horizons. In 2019, she officially launched the Juneteenth LP, spotlighting the African Diaspora’s artistic brilliance through Black classically trained musicians. Her dedication earned her the Chamber Music America Artist Grant in 2022, elevating her Juneteenth celebration to a weeklong NYC event. Dr. Ogwo began her piano journey at age 6, studying at prestigious institutions and receiving accolades like the Fulbright Award. Today, she’s a sought-after musician and educator, and her latest album, “Luminous,” was released in May 2023.
