Yukimi and Clara had a wonderful conversation with Dr. Yui a week ago, and what a great way to start our New Year!

During the interview, she shared many fun anecdotes from her concert tours, advice/wisdom from her extensive teaching career, her current project on Asian composers, her vision for the classical music industry, and more!

Ms. Yui is a multifaceted artist — concert pianist, lecturer, teacher, author, and musical director. She has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia as a recitalist in venues such as Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, and the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum in Budapest, among other major concert venues around the world.

Her CD album of the music of Carl Maria von Weber and Jan Ladislav Dussek was awarded the highest rating by the French music magazine, Pianiste. In addition, her DVD/Blu-ray recording with commentary of four piano sonatas by Beethoven received rave reviews from music critics.

As a dedicated educator, Ms. Yui teaches Keyboard Literature at the Juilliard School Extension and Graduate Piano Literature, Keyboard Skills, and Piano Music by Asian Composers at the Manhattan School of Music.
