I had the privilege of interviewing Mr. David Hackbridge Johnson, one of the prolific 🇬🇧composers of our time, who has written works in all genres with the opus numbers to catalog Mr. Johnson’s large-scale works in the 400s 🤯.His name became known to many classical music listeners worldwide in recent years with one of America’s most frequently performed and recorded living composers and Pianists, Mr. Lowell Libermann’s solo piano album under the Steinway and Sons label. The title of the album is 😈 The Devil’s Lyre, and all the pieces are written by Mr. Hackbridge Johnson.🎼 He has written over 20 symphonies and tone poems, various chamber, vocal, ballet, opera, and choral music. In addition, he has written extensively for the piano, including 18 sonatas, 7 Nocturnes, and many shorter pieces and piano cycles. I have been a big fan of his music since the release of The Devil’s Lyre. So, through this episode, I want to promote his remarkable compositions, not limited to piano works but ranging in different genres, so that many classical musicians, including fellow pianists, will get to know him and start performing and recording his incredible music more often 😍. Part 2 will be out on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 8:00 pm ET![David Hackbridge Johnson – Composer & Multi-instrumentalist]
